Build;
The first thing people tend to notice about Joe is how small he is, both in height and width. Standing, at only 5'4 feet tall, he is towered above by both men and women of all ages. This goes without mentioning that he weighs less than the average teenage girl. At a less-than chart topping weight of 92 lbs, one would suppose he is malnourished or anorexic or something of the sort, and he is often the center of concern when he visits his (or any of his friend's) families. It's not like it's his fault, though. He's just naturally that thin. As it said in the book Brave New World, it's as if he had alcohol in his blood surrogate. This hasn't been proven, as his mother always denies having smoked or drank while she was pregnant, but Joe (and everyone else) has their doubts.
Hair;
Joe's hair masterfully gives the impression of being very neat, even while he hasn't done anything to it. He, of course, gives it a quick comb every morning, but if he didn't no one would notice. It's naturally straight, but it doesn't look like he got it Japanese straightened or anything unnatural like that. It's also jet black, which is a result of his dying it every other month. He cuts it himself, so it's often a tad uneven, but he doesn't give much mind to that. He has what one might call a 'mop-top' haircut.
Eyes;
Joe's eyes seem rather friendly, which is in great contrast from the rest of his small, but intimidating self. They are of average size, but slightly almond-shaped. His eyelashes are short and not very noticeable, which may or may not be because people are distracted by how bright and blue Joe's eyes are. Although they are friendly, Joe's eyes always seem to give the impression that he is very tired or sad. It's often neither, but his eyes always seem to say that something very traumatic has recently happened. It's the dark, heavy bags that are almost always located directly beneath his eyes that seem to give that impression. But don't be fooled, he's probably fine.
Skin;
Joe is a ghost. Not literally, but his skin color is pretty close. Even in the summer, he never tans. He just burns. It's a strange phenomenon With his being 25% Italian, you'd think he'd be able to tan even just a little bit. But to no avail. His skin in just pasty and white, which may be a direct result of spending his entire childhood on the cloudy, rainy island of England. He often gives the impression of being skeleton-like, with his thin pencil legs and his paste-colored skin.
clothing style,-
The people around him tend to call Joe an individual. He doesn't necessarily agree, but he also doesn't argue. He certainly doesn't dress like most Californians. New Yorkers is a different story, but this story isn't set there now is it? So, as far as California is concerned, Joe's style is pretty out there. He's fond of clothes that appear to cut off his circulation. Tight jeans are a priority above all. His pants must be indistinguishable from his skin, otherwise they are too baggy, but that's a trend that most scene boys conform to. Joe is not a scene boy. His shoes are always, without a doubt, winkle pickers. For those Americans who are not familiar with the term, winkle pickers are really pointy shoes that lace or buckle up and usually have a small heel. They're very popular among the boys of the British punk and mod-revivalist scene.
His shirts are usually plain button-ups, but he'll occasionally wear a simple tee-shirt. He's also fond of wearing stylish blazers and vests and waistcoats. He's a fantastic accessorizer. He'll often be seen wearing vintage ascots and neckties, and he has a gorgeous collection of belt buckles from all over.

Approachable;
Upon looking at him, Joe appears to be a pretty nice, friendly guy. He has to be. He's so small, if he gave anyone any trouble they could crush him in a second. So he is just nice to everyone when he first meets them, even if he can tell that he won't like them. People tend to feel like they can trust him when they first meet him, although his closer friends know that this isn't always true. So Joe gets to know a whole lot about people that he's just met, and he can use that to his advantage; whether he's going to try and pursue and friendship with you, or blackmail you with it later.
Fun;
Joe can be a party animal when he wants to. It depends on the situation. If it's a crazy dance party, then he'll be able to fit right in. He is a DJ, after all. He's actually a good dancer, despite how very white and dorky he is. He can get along with everything from rap and hip-hop to garage punk to obscure French freakbeat psychedelia. Of course, he can also make an impression at trendy lounge parties, where he can talk to people and show off how cultured he is, while holding some trendy drink and smoking a just-as-trendy European cigarette.
Bitchy;
Joe is a male diva. One might call him a divo. He's fond of saying things like "Do you know who I am?" He's very self-centered, despite how friendly and caring he might seem at first. He's always over-concerned with what people are wearing, including himself. He won't say anything to people's faces unless he sees an absolute need to, but he's a huge gossiper. He quite fond of referring to people as "fat", but not to their face, of course. And he's not exactly one to talk, as most people would think anyone is fat compared to him, but he just thinks that anyone with a BMI (body mass index) of over 19% is some kind of whale. He has no problem making fun of his close friends, as he tends to do it in a friendly tone so they don't get mad at him for some reason. If you want to get the real personality of Joe, just look at Andy Warhol. Joe was probably a reincarnation of him.
Angry;
Joe isn't a violent person, but he does throw the occasional tantrum. And, boy, can this kid scream. He hasn't ever attacked anyone. This was discussed earlier. He's incapable of physical violence. The extent of what he's done is throwing his cellphone at a certain ex-friend who threw a party that Joe had not been invited to. This boy is hella good at verbal abuse, though. He normally doesn't say things to peoples' faces, but when he does, he likes to rip them apart with his words.
Romantic;
Although Joe is a bitch, if he loves someone he really loves them. He has yet to find someone to really attach himself to, but he knows that it could happen. He often feels rather empty because he know that he doesn't have anyone to care for, or a friend or lover who genuinely loves him, rather than is just using him to improve their social status. not that joe sees this as a bad thing, he loves having "disciples", as he sometimes calls them, but he really just wants a few people who he'd do anything for. He's found that it's not the same to care about material objects more than people.

detailed,-
Joe Spurgeon was born on November 16th, 1988 in a hospital in Paris, France while his parents were vacationing there. He wasn't expected so early, as he wasn't supposed to be due for several weeks. So, he was born a French citizen, but he was soon made an English citizen like his parents. His early years were spent in a small house in the suburbs along the southern coast. He was the only child of two young parents, and was spoiled as much as their income would allow.
He went to public school until he was eleven years old, when his parents saved up enough money to send him to an all-boys boarding school. He wasn't very popular with the boys his age, but he never paid very much mind to them. He always had this idea in his head that he was an outsider, but not in a bad way. He was better than all of these boys. He didn't play rugby or field hockey with any of the other boys during their breaks, and was labeled as weird. He spent most of his alone time in an old vintage shop nearby his school, where he bought dozens of old psychedelic and garage records from the late fifties and early sixties. He also developed a sort of affection for mod-style clothing from sixties, and punk-rock skinny jeans from the eighties. Once again, Joe didn't care about them in the least. He was better than them. He went through elementary, middle, and high school with virtually no friends. He was absolutely adored by the faculty, though. He was a bright boy who always seemed to care about the subjects they were teaching, even though he usually didn't. This is probably how Joe got so good at making people trust him.
One day during 11th grade, Joe got a call from home from his mother. His father had just been killed during a mechanical accident at work. He came home from school for a few weeks to take care of his distressed mother. What bothered Joe the most about the whole incident was that he didn't care at all. He wasn't sure why. He never seemed to allow himself to get too attached to anybody, including his parents. Joe's father loved him, though. So Joe felt this sort-of overwhelming sense of guilt as to why he didn't care more about his father's death.
Joe finished his junior year in a sort-of daze. The realization that he didn't have anyone to care for shook him up quite a bit at the time. He left boarding school at the end of his junior year, and instead of going back for senior year, he took college courses at an art school in London. That gave him his first taste of life in a big city, and he wanted more. He loved city life. He earned money for his classes and his rent by waiting tables during the week, and DJing parties and clubs during the weekends. He became a sort of demi-celebrity in London, and was awarded the DJ-name Coffin Joe because of his death-like appearance and his affection for very old "Coffin Joe" horror movies. He always played the most bizarre music at parties, which is one reason people always seemed to want to call him back for their next party.
Joe was on the list of every part and gallery opening and trendy event that could possibly be going on in London. Other people began to mimic his style, not that he was the first one to be doing it, he just helped it spread. And henceforth came the mod revival of the new millennium, all before Joe was 18. One day, a friend suggested that he move to America to finish school, where he wasn't such an underground celebrity. Joe liked the idea, as he liked to try new things, and packed his things, and boarded a flight to California.
